No rating yet On the heels of a very productive discussion this past Friday on the recent Bailout (ahem, Rescue) Bill in Oakland, I am proposing this titillating subject for urgent exploration: "Is posse comitatus dead?" The title is borrowed from the AlterNet transcription of a Democracy Now! interview published Wednesday regarding the deployment of the Infantry Division's 1st Brigade to US territory last Wednesday "to help with civil unrest and crowd control," that last according to Army Times (since amended). http://www.alternet. Come by to continue the discussion, perhaps looking ahead to a more public, and publicized, event at College Ave. Pres. on Friday 11/7 (on the subject of election integrity). How do we get people to start coming together and actually talking about current events, and be more than mere echo machines for the MSM bromides of the day? Can we make this fun? Can we make this appealing? How do we get folks to understand (and act on) the importance of normal people engaging in friendly but substantial political discourse?
