FCC hearing: Sept. 20 -- Attend. Testify. Volunteer.

Thanks to everyone who came to the great meetup this week. Sorry I couldn't stay, but hopefully we can keep the ball rolling.

There's a great opportunity next week to stay involved in this issue when the FCC comes to town. There are a number of ways you can be involved:

(1) Attend. The hearing will take place on Thursday, September 20, starting at 4pm, running through 11pm. The address is the Operation Push National Headquarters, Dr. King?s Workshop, 930 East 50th Street (corner of South Drexel Blvd.), in Chicago.

(2) Testify. If you'd like to testify, you are strongly urged to attend any of FIVE training sessions to brush up on media policy, learn the logistics of the hearing, and hone your message in an atmosphere of constructive criticism. The list of workshops is here:

(3) Volunteer. There is also an urgent need for linewaiters. Linewaiters are heroes who can take the whole day off to wait in line (perhaps spending most of the day in line) on behalf for a speaker who can give some amazing testimony but who can't wait in line.
